A cousin of mine (still living in Wannweil) received his training as Panzergrenadier at the Ypernkaserne in Reutlingen. He served on the Russian front until the end of the war, when he and his unit was captured in Czechoslovakia by General Patton's US Third Army. Several weeks later he was back home in Wannweil where he was arrested by the French Army and spent several weeks in a French POW Camp.
